Description
This option allows the radio, tuner and amplifier to work properly for 2G ALE, in that while scanning, the ATU is put into BYPASS mode. Once a link is initiated, an incoming link is established, or SCAN is stopped manually, the ATU goes into MAN mode, which will initiate tuning.
When used with the KPA500 amplifier, interlocks between the radio controller and the amp controller are in place. For example, if the Radio controller is set to HIGH RF power output, the amplifier’s mode is set to STANDBY automatically in order to avoid an over-drive fault in the amplifier. If the amplifier mode is changed from STANDBY to OPERATE, the Radio controller will change the RF power output to LOW, in order to safely drive the amplifier. If the amplifier mode is change from OPERATE to STANDBY, the Radio controller will change the power level back to HIGH.
